Where it actually stands
- Chain
- Live since 1 August 2026. Height, difficulty and supply: explorer.pc.am/api/status — read it rather than trusting a number written on a page.
- Block production
- Our own pool finds roughly seven blocks in ten. That is a majority, and it is the single largest thing wrong with this project today. It is also the gate on most of the list below.
- Exchanges
- None. PCN is not listed anywhere and has no orderbook.
- Price
- Posted by us, not discovered by a market. See An honest price below.
- Holders
- A few hundred addresses hold a balance, and the largest few hold most of the coins. The explorer's rich list is the live answer.
Shipped
Working today, in public. Everything here can be checked without asking us.
-
An independent chain Shipped
Own genesis, own network, own UTXO set. Bitcoin Core with proof-of-work replaced by RandomX (CPU-friendly, ASIC-resistant) and difficulty by LWMA, which retargets every block. 21M cap, 50 PCN reward, 210,000-block halving. No premine, no ICO, no dev tax.
The LWMA fork activated at height 2800 and every node followed it. There was no split.
-
Mine from a phone Shipped
An Android app that runs a full node and mines on the phone's own CPU — the plainest version of the idea this project exists for. A separate wallet-only build, with the miner compiled out, is on Google Play.
-
Desktop and server miners Shipped
Windows has a tray miner and a separate wallet application. Linux installs with one command and a wizard that validates your payout address against a node rather than a regular expression. All of it is on the download page.
-
A mining pool Shipped
pool.pc.am, stratum on 3333, 2% fee, open since 13 August. Written from scratch, because RandomX over a Bitcoin-style header runs on no existing pool software unmodified. Solo mining still works and is not going away.
-
Two independent block explorers Shipped
explorer.pc.am with a read-only JSON API, and a second indexer on a different machine reading from a different node. They exist as a pair on purpose: no single explorer decides whether your money arrived, and a payment is held rather than credited when the two disagree.
-
Spending PCN on real things Shipped
Our own services take PCN today — webai.pc.am, AI Control and @MyWebsiteBuilderBot among them. Each issues an address only your account is credited for, waits for confirmations, and converts at the published rate. The integration guide is at docs.pc.am if you want to accept PCN in your own product.
-
wPCN, and a way in and out Shipped
PCN cannot trade on an exchange that has never heard of it, so wPCN exists: a BEP-20 token on BNB Smart Chain, backed one-for-one by PCN held in a public reserve. It trades in a PancakeSwap pool. wrapdesk.pc.am turns PCN into wPCN, and the contract's own redeem() turns it back.
The pool is small. A few hundred dollars moves it noticeably. It is a door, not a market, and it should not be read as a valuation.
-
Reachable by software we did not write Shipped
Public ElectrumX servers are up and PCN is merged into the Komodo coin list, so wallets and tools built by other people can talk to the chain without us being involved.
In progress
Being worked on now. Each one says what it is waiting for, because “in progress” without that is just a word.
-
Miners who are not us In progress
This is the most important item on the page. While our pool finds most of the blocks, we are in a position to reorganise the chain — and no amount of promising not to is worth anything next to the number itself.
What would fix it: independent CPU miners, and splitting our own hashrate up. Both, probably. What it blocks: most exchange listings, which read concentration as a risk to their own users, and reasonably so.
-
An honest price In progress
price.pc.am is a rate we post, sold from a finite ladder. It is not discovered on a market and must not be read as a valuation.
Until 9 September 2026 a bot of ours also held the PancakeSwap pool to that posted rate by buying whenever it fell. That has been switched off. Defending a price out of a small float is a countdown rather than a defence, and a pool held exactly level by our own money tells nobody anything. The pool is now free to move on real trading, and the rate our services credit PCN at follows it downward, with a published floor.
What would fix it properly: a price somebody who is not us agreed to, in a venue we do not run.
-
A listing somewhere real In progress
Several exchanges have been approached and the requirements are understood. We are not going to name candidates before anything is signed, because a listing announced early and then missed is worse than silence.
Waiting on: the concentration above, and depth in the wPCN pool.
-
Nodes in places we do not control In progress
Every fixed seed and the DNS seed are currently ours. If all of our machines vanished the chain would keep running — existing nodes keep their peers and keep mining — but new nodes would struggle to find it. The fix is seeds run by other people.
Planned, not started
Wanted, and honestly not begun. None of these has a date.
-
A wallet that needs no install Planned
Not built. Send and receive from a browser, for people who will never open a terminal. Today the Android wallet and the desktop node are the only wallets aimed at an ordinary person.
-
Paying people, not just services Planned
Paying a service with PCN works now. Tipping a person, settling a small debt, sending value to someone who is not a merchant — that does not, and it needs the browser wallet above first.
-
An outside audit of the wPCN contract Planned
The contract is short, public and verified on BscScan, and it has not been audited by anyone independent. Read that as it is written.
-
Signed Windows binaries Planned
Every download is unsigned, so Windows SmartScreen warns about it regardless of what is inside. Only a code-signing certificate removes that, and it is a cost rather than a problem to solve.
How to read this page
Anything marked Shipped can be verified without our help: run the node, open the explorer, read the source. Anything marked Planned does not exist yet, whatever the surrounding enthusiasm.
PCoin is a small project and says so. It is not an investment, there is no team behind it beyond the people actually writing the code, and no date on this page is a commitment — because there are no dates on this page.
